The "36"

Many years ago I saw a 36 overlay in David Morgan's "Whips and Whip Making" book. I have looked for one to see how it was made, but have failed to find one. The "36" has been on my mind for all this time. This whip has a 14-in. handle with a 7ft. 6 in. body. The knob on the handle is part of the braid work, with no knots on the whip. The braid work on the handle has several variations of the 36 braid; tapering to a 10 braid at the tip. This whip is a must for ever collector.

Doug's Multi-Popper

Designed by Doug Whitaker, trick roper, gun slinger and whip artist of San Antonio, Texas, the multi popper has a 7 1/2 inch handle with a 5 1/2 ft. body,16 braid and a multi color ring knot overlay. Doug is a very fine whip handler, he likes the shorter handle for the back hand pops.

Doug is also a very fine performer and has a great act for both children and adults. He has performed all over the U.S. as well as a tour in Japan and other countries.

In the event you are looking for a class act he can be reached at:

EL Pinto

El Pinto, half "n" half, fancy ring knots, are all nicknames for multi colored whips. They will all have several transition or variation of the braid. The multi colors will make the transitions prettier and more visible. The multi colors does not improve the handling qualities of the whip, in some cases it degrades the beauty of the whip. The beauty of a whip comes from the craftsmanship not several colors. This whip has two contracting colors; there are many colors to choose from, how ever there about 5 or 6 to choose from in kangaroo. Any thing less then16 or 24-braid overlay does not yield the same beauty as the 16-braid overlay

The fancy ring knot is a real stocking stuffer for any of Santa's helper. EL PINTO, 16-braid overlay,1 ft. handle, 6 ft. body.
